 Mr. George Castro is a Full time Broker Licensed in NJ & NY with 23 years’ experience and over 7.2 Billion Dollars in Real Estate sales experience .George Castro positioned his Company Atlantic Pros as the # 1 most productive Real Estate Companies in New Jersey  and Top 1 % in the Northeast. His Company has been the recipient of many Awards for its outstanding sales performance. Under the leadership of George, Atlantic Pros received the Gold Medallion Award, the prestigious Double Centurion and the Grand Centurion Award for several consecutive years Atlantic Pros as the #1 in New Jersey. His notoriety resulted in a number of important public service positions. George Castro made history when in 2001 the then Governor James McGreevey appointed him to the prestigious State Investment Council. On the day that he was appointed, his peers elected him as the Vice-chairman of the Council. George Castro’s Board was responsible for the investment of almost 70 billion dollars in state employee annual pension funds; he represented the consolidated Police and Firemen Pension Fund Commission. He served as representative of Governor McGreevey to the Board of Governors, and is a currently member of the Board of Trustees of the Union County College. From 2002 to 2011, under Governors McGreevey, Governor Codey, Governor Corzine and Governor Christie, George Castro also served as Commissioner of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority “NJSEA”,. George Castro’s Board was responsible for the management of the Giants Stadium, IZOD Center, the Meadowlands, Monmouth County Horse Racetracks, and other sports and entertainment facilities. During his tenure as Commissioner of the NJSEA, his Board approved the construction of the new Meadowlands Stadium formerly known as the Giants Stadium. He served as Chairman of the Human Resources Committee of the NJSEA, and he oversaw the reorganization of the NJSEA employee pension fund, thus increasing its investment returns. On May 2011, George Castro graciously declined an additional four year nomination made by Governor Chris Christie He has been featured in the New York Times, The Star Ledger and several magazines. In many occasions, he has been recognized and has been the recipient several Congressional Recognitions and Commendations introduced by members of the US House of Representatives. His name appears in the Congressional Records recognizing his Community Involvement and Business Experience. Equally in November 2011, he was the recipient of a US Senate Proclamation introduced by US Senator Robert Menendez. In 2005, George was named a finalist in the New Jersey "Ernst& Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards". In appreciation of his leadership in business and political capacities, in 2001 George Castro was named, “Business Person of The Year” by the State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.   In 1991, George Castro received a Congressional pin for Realtors active in politics; He was the recipient of a New Jersey Senate Resolution presented by Senator Raymond Lesniak and Senator Joseph Vitale recognizing his outstanding community achievements.   On February 22, 2001 The Member of the United States Congress, Steve Rothman, sponsored a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for his outstanding and invaluable service to the Community.   On February 25, 2001, the Congress of the United States, upon Resolution presented by the then Honorable Congressman Robert Menendez, who raised on the Congress floor, recognized Jorge Castro for all his accomplishments and contributions to the community; The same day, the then Mayor of Woodbridge who also served as Governor of the State of New Jersey James E. McGreevey presented George A. Castro II, with a Mayor’s proclamation.   The following year, on September 27 2002, Senator Lesniak, and former Assemblymen Cohen, and Caraballo and Suliga presented jointly a prestigious Senate and Assembly Resolution acknowledging George Castro for his remarkable record of service to the Hispanic American Community and the community at Large.   Few days later, then Congressman Robert Menendez again presented George Castro with Certificate of Special Congressional recognition on the 4thAnnual Patriots Path Council Award Recognition Dinner. The Union County Freeholders Board has also cited him for his outstanding achievement in support of the arts.   On January 23, 2003, Union County Freeholder Alex Mirabella and Hon. Freeholder Angel Estrada introduced Resolution No. 136-2003 commending George, for his efforts and work as Event Chairman for the free showing of Charles Dickens’ timeless holiday classic “A Christmas Carol” which was held at his Ritz Theatre in Elizabeth, New Jersey, in December 21, 2002.   On October 10, 2001, the State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce recognized George Castro as the business-person of the year. He is listed in the Who’s Who for U.S. Hispanic Businesses. His Atlantic Pros, Realtors,has received the 1999-2008 International Double Centurion Award recognition as one of the top real estate offices, and in 1998 it received the Gold Medallion Award for outstanding sales achievement.   Today, his office remains positioned as one of the most productive real Estate Companies in New Jersey.
